Big Capacity, Big Performance
When you have to clear a snow-filled parking lot, or lots of walkways, you need a tailgate spreader that holds a lot so you can get your job done. The Mate has one of the largest capacities in the industry (9.0 cubic foot), meaning it holds 700 pounds of salt, sand, a salt-sand mixture, fertilizer or seed.
Direct Drive Motor
Meyer’s tailgate spreader is powered by a commercial-duty 1/8 horsepower, 12V direct-drive motor. That means there are no space-consuming, power-robbing, right-angle gearboxes anywhere on this spreader. The Mate drives the spinner directly off the motor drive shaft, providing positive, energy-efficient power to the agitator system. The Mate comes standard with a built-in vibrator to maximize salt flow performance onto ice and snow.
No More Clumps
To increase the spreader flow rate, we offer an optional sifting screen that breaks up clumps of salts and sand prior to entering the hopper. The standard heavy-duty locking straps on the hopper cover keep moisture out during snow and ice storms, thus improving spreading performance.
Adjustable Opening Disk Prevents Leakage
The Mate is designed to prevent ice melt from leaking when the spreader is idle. With the pull of one pin, the disk below the discharge throat can be adjusted to prevent fine material from leaking or to stop course material from falling out onto the spinner.
The Meyer Mate is ready for year-round use and can accommodate a variety of materials including rock salt, sand, calcium chloride, seed and fertilizer.
